About Fight AFIB
Dr. Yasser Rodriguez is a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist and educator dedicated to advancing the treatment and understanding of heart rhythm disorders, with a particular focus on atrial fibrillation. Through his clinical practice, academic work, and public education initiatives, Dr. Rodriguez is committed to helping patients better understand their heart health and the modern treatments available for arrhythmias.
Dr. Rodriguez earned his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami, and also completed a Master of Business Administration with a Health Sector concentration from the University of Miami School of Business. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan Health System, followed by cardiovascular disease fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He then completed advanced cardiac electrophysiology fellowship training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, a major Harvard teaching hospital, where he also served as Chief Fellow in Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Dr. Rodriguez is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiac electrophysiology, and currently practices as a cardiac electrophysiologist at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at both Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University, where he contributes to the education and mentorship of medical trainees.
Throughout his career, Dr. Rodriguez has maintained a strong commitment to academic medicine and research. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific publications, book chapters, and scholarly articles in leading cardiovascular and electrophysiology journals, with his work spanning topics such as cardiac device management, arrhythmia care, and structural heart disease.
Clinically, Dr. Rodriguez specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias, particularly atrial fibrillation. He has been an early adopter and pioneer of fluoroless catheter ablation techniques, allowing many electrophysiology procedures to be performed with little or no X-ray exposure while maintaining high precision and safety.
Through his educational platform Fight AFib and his YouTube channel, Dr. Rodriguez shares evidence-based cardiovascular education designed to help patients understand atrial fibrillation, modern treatment options, and strategies to protect long-term heart rhythm health. His goal is to translate complex electrophysiology concepts into clear, practical information that empowers patients to take an active role in their care.
Dr. Rodriguez’s views are his own.
“Your heart rhythm affects every part of your life. The more you understand atrial fibrillation—what causes it, how it behaves, and how it can be treated—the more power you have to take control of your heart health. My mission is to give patients the knowledge they need to fight AFib and live healthier, fuller lives.”
