The Fight AFib Book
A New Guide to Understanding and Treating Atrial Fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation affects millions of people worldwide, yet many patients are left struggling to understand what it truly means for their health.
Why does AFib happen?
What triggers episodes?
Do medications actually work?
When does ablation make sense?
Can AFib be prevented—or even reversed?
These are the questions I hear from patients every day.
That’s why I’m currently writing The Fight AFib Book — a comprehensive guide designed to help patients and families better understand atrial fibrillation and the modern treatments available today.
Why This Book Matters
Despite how common AFib is, reliable information is often fragmented, overly technical, or difficult to apply to real life.
This book is being written to bridge that gap.
Inside the book, readers will learn:
• What atrial fibrillation actually is — and what it means for your heart
• The most common causes and triggers of AFib
• How AFib is diagnosed and monitored
• The role of medications, lifestyle changes, and procedures
• When catheter ablation may be the best treatment option
• The latest advances in heart rhythm medicine and technology
The goal is simple:
To give patients the knowledge and confidence to better understand their condition and make informed decisions about their care.
Written by a Cardiac Electrophysiologist
The Fight AFib Book is written by Dr. Yasser Rodriguez, a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist specializing in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders.
Dr. Rodriguez has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific publications and book chapters in cardiovascular medicine and completed advanced electrophysiology training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, a major Harvard teaching hospital.
Through years of treating patients with atrial fibrillation, one thing has become clear:
Many people living with AFib simply don’t have access to clear, understandable information about their condition.
This book aims to change that.
